Artist Gabe Martinez designed a dynamic full-scale takeover of LA&M’s exhibition spaces by mining and manipulating work from their archives. This over-sized catalog (11.5” x 16.5”) bursts with installation images that recreate the in-person experience. The ‘zine-style scale, layout and paper reference 1980’s Queer culture. Taped to each cover is a unique inset laser-cut, darkroom-processed silver gelatin print.

Megan Reed, Center for Connected Care, Thomas Jefferson University
A team of harm-reduction researchers identified prevention and care strategies to assist people who experience wounds from xylazine use. A set of materials was designed, prototyped and tested with this community to confirm its value. The system is now freely shareable and bilingual. The booklet prints on letter-size paper and folds down to fit in a standard wound care bag. The entire project was exhibited at the 2025 Venice Biennale as part of Jefferson’s Institute for Smart and Healthy Cities installation.

This project was included in the 2025 Venice Biennale, Time Space Existence, as part of Thomas Jefferson University’s exhibition Intersections: Health, Environment, and Design.

Michelle Liao Collection
This privately owned billboard enlivens the Callowhill neighborhood with large-scale art. The theme for this installation was ‘creating more connection’. The artist Dan Rose was invited to exhibit his work. After a collaborative review, SuperGirl was selected. To create connection, she was mirrored into conversation. The result is a connection between self, others and otherworldly others.

The Print Center
Photographer William E. Williams produced an insightful series of photographs in the 1970-80’s that captured Philadelphia social events and counter-culture gatherings. The original photos were produced as gelatin silver prints. Tritones were used for the plates section to replicate their richness. The oh-so-touchable cover substrate references the varied materials detailed in Williams’ images and the tip-on cover photo is a miniature gem.

A fundraiser for The Print Center brought together all of the book collaborators for a panel discussion.

This limited-edition book series showcases book artist Dan Rose’s playful and poignant work. Drawings chronicles decades of Rose’s cartoonish whimsy. Faces questions the line between human and robot, and False Heads creates dialogue, even where it doesn’t belong. Each volume is a quirky book object. They feature stiff cover board construction, smyth sewing, cloth binding and the specialized printing techniques of routering, metallic foil stamping and stapling.

Researching and writing this book was the ultimate joy and indulgence for me. In it are 400+ images of boat names, along with a naming history and explanations of early techniques. Interviews with highly talented sign painters add context and a few funny stories.
